Monday night, TBS sent out a Tweet mocking Hillary Clinton’s and many defended the presidential candidate, including TBS' own late-night host Samantha Bee, who slammed the network.
TBS tweeted: “Move over Donkey! There’s a new mascot in town … #ImWithHyena” along with a 24 second video of Clinton laughing intertwined together with laughing hyenas. The tweet was created from the TBS website, The Heckler, which parodies pop culture, politics and sports.
Bee retweeted the network’s tweet and wrote,“Delete your account.”
TBS released a statement this morning apologizing for the tweet.
"This post was obviously a poor attempt at humor and has been taken down. Moving forward we'll leave political satire to professionals like Samantha Bee."
Both TBS' and Bee's tweets have since been deleted.
Bee has been a breakout star for the network this year. Her series, "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee," began airing in February.
