Tina Fey felt the Academy Awards focused too much on the issues this year.

“Being at the Oscars… halfway through I was like this is some real Hollywood bulls--t,” she dished to Howard Stern. “Everyone’s telling me like what to do and it was like, people are yelling at me about rape and corporate greed, but really it’s climate change, and I was like ‘Guys, pick a lane. Hey everyone, we’re going to fix everything tonight. And also, you’re all rich. Why are you yelling at me about corporate greed? You’re all so rich.’”

Sunday’s Oscars turned out to be a platform not just for racial representation in the movies, led by host Chris Rock's incisive insight and parody, but a wide array of causes, from global warming and bank reform to sexual abuse in church and on campus.

At the end of the night, Leonardo Dicaprio opted to turn his first-ever Academy Awards acceptance speech into a brief lecture about climate change.

Still, Fey thought DiCaprio’s acceptance speech was “articulate.”

“He’s so smart and his speech was so cogent,” she said.

And though the Oscars seemed particularly issue-based to Fey this year, in some ways, the Oscars have always been a place where winners use the podium and their 45 seconds to opine on causes directly or indirectly related to the movies-- from Sacheen Littlefeather's speech about Native American rights 43 years ago to Patricia Arquette's call last year for pay equality for women.

Fey knows a thing or two about awards shows: She's hosted the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler three times.

She revealed to Stern she once had a shocking moment at the Emmy's as well.

“I had a nip slip at the Emmys a few years ago, really minor," she said.

Fey said she found out about the wardrobe malfunction because her mother told her about it.

The comedy writer revealed she is against going nude on-screen, and Fey said she recently turned down a play because the role required her to be nude on stage.

“I think I missed the window," she told Stern.
