Demi Lovato has been enjoying her time down under promoting her hit single “Cool for the Summer” and performing it on the Australian version of “The Voice.” She’s been sharing cute photos with koalas and kangaroos — even one who gave a sweet kiss.
But she is leaving Australia with a bitter taste in her mouth, thanks to the paparazzi. The singer took to Twitter to call them out for bringing up a painful time just to get a reaction out of her.
“Kind of a low blow when paparazzi bring up your dead dog to try to get a reaction out of you,” she tweeted on Wednesday.

Lovato’s puppy Buddy died tragically late last month. While she didn’t elaborate on how he died, TMZ reported that the pup was attacked by a coyote that entered her Los Angeles home's backyard.
“He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle so with that, together we our staying strong,” Lovato wrote at the time.
This is not the first time Lovato has called out the paparazzi for their actions.
Following Logo’s “Trailblazers” event in New York in June 2014, the former Disney Channel star slammed a slew of paparazzi who got in the way of meeting her fans.
“When are paparazzi gonna learn? If you’re respectful to me, I’ll be respectful back. Why does it have to be a war of celebs against paps?” she tweeted at the time. “Of course if you yell horrible things, I’m not gonna work with you. I’ll pose if you are respectful and not being bullies.”
