Naya Rivera is well into her second trimester and she has learned that sex with hubby Ryan Dorsey isn’t what it used to be.
In a People.com blog post, the pregnant “Devious Maids” star described the changes she has been experiencing now that she has a growing baby bump.
“With my first trimmest behind me, I was looking forward to the second phase of my pregnancy; a time that some refer to as ‘the golden months,’ where things like nausea, extreme fatigue, and bloating are safely in your rear view mirror. And guess what? They were right,” Rivera wrote. “Well… for the most part.”
In a section that might have some readers shouting “TMI!” to the former “Glee” star, Rivera wrote that many things have changes, especially being intimate with Dorsey.
“Things like sex with my husband became a bit off for me due to the fact that I was not limited to about two positions in order to not squash – as my husband puts it – ‘its roof’ or have the baby (my belly) staring him in the face,” the 28-year-old wrote. “I feel like men are constantly imaging their baby winking at them when they make love to their pregnant wives thus making sexy times more few and far between.”
Rivera and Dorsey, 31, married in July 2014 in a surprise wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Seven months later they announced they were expecting their first child.
Despite the change in her sex life, Rivera said she is embracing this special time.
"With all of these massive, and sometimes difficult changes happening, there is one thing about the second trimester that makes it all worthwhile: Those first real kicks from your baby,” she wrote. “I had felt flutters here and there throughout my first trimester, but by the end of my second, baby Dorsey was a full on kicking machine! I felt the baby all day, every day and it always made me smile. I will never forget the moment Ryan felt the baby kick for the first time. It truly was one of those precious memories I will have forever.”
