She is killing it in “Jane the Virgin,” and now she says she is ready kick some butt in the big screen too.

“I would love to be a superhero – that’s all I want to do, play a superhero,” Gina Rodriguez, 30, told E! News. “And let’s be real, I could kick some ass. We all know I could kick some ass.”

And it could happen. According to E! News, Marvel announced last year that a female superhero would be getting her own film in 2018.

Casting has yet to be announced and the “Jane the Virgin” actress is sure to put her name into consideration.

Rodriguez’s comments come just days after another Rodriguez – Michelle Rodriguez that is – told TMZ that minority actors needed to “stop stealing all the white people’s superheroes.”

The “Furious 7” actress acknowledged soon after in a Facebook video that she “stuck her foot in (her) mouth” and that she has a “tendency to speak without a filter.”

"I think there are many cultures in Hollywood that are not white and that can come up with their own mythology," Michelle Rodriguez said in the video. "It doesn't matter what culture you come from. I'm just saying that instead of trying to turn a girl character into a guy or instead of trying to turn a white character into a black character or a Latin character, I think that people should stop being lazy and people should actually make an effort in Hollywood to develop their own mythology."

She then urged people to “stop trying to take what's already there and try to fit a culture into it.”

"I think it's time to write our own mythology and our own story," Michelle Rodriguez said.

For Gina Rodriguez, though, the superhero role might have to wait. She said that since snagging the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy Series two months ago she has been busier than ever.

“The opportunities become more abundant. People have been so wonderful,” she said. “The opportunities for ‘Jane the Virgin’ have become more abundant. We’re now in 31 different markets in over 28 countries. People are picking up the show and [people] who didn’t know about it before. It’s very exciting.”
