Elizabeth Norment, who played Frank Underwood’s doting secretary Nancy Kaufberger on “House of Cards,” has died, the studio behind the Netflix series confirms. She was 61.

“Elizabeth Norment was a talented actress with a beautiful spirit who touched the entire ‘House of Cards’ family,” MRC said in a statement sent to FOX411. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.”

Kevin Spacey, who plays the main character, Frank Underwood, on the hit show, tweeted about Norment’s death.

Writer Beau Willimon added, “Everyone at ‘House of Cards’ is deeply saddened by Elizabeth's passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul, and a good friend to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Norment died of cancer on Oct. 13 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
