A giant snake sank its fangs into one of Nicki Minaj’s backup dancer’s while performing her hit song “Anaconda” during a Friday rehearsal for the MTV Video Music Awards reports The New York Post.
The six-foot long Boa constrictor brought the mock performance to a halt when it slithered up to the woman and took a bite out of her as fellow performers looked on in disbelief, TMZ reported.
The snake was eventually scooped up into a container and removed from the stage.
It remains unclear if the reptile will be a part of the live telecast, when it airs this Sunday.
The woman was treated at a Los Angeles hospital officials told the site.
Boa constrictors are non-venomous snakes but can transmit bacteria that can sometimes lead to infection.
