The myth will continue.

Those were the words that Thalia used to debunk recent reports that she had confirmed the long-standing rumor that she underwent rib-removal surgery to look thinner.

In an Instagram post Aug. 12, the Mexican singer said the photo of her with a pair of ribs she posted earlier in the day was a fake. She followed it with a plate of baby back rips - which she ate.

“To my Filipino Fans, Tadaaaa!!! Here is My Famous Ribs, would you like to try some,” she wrote in the caption. “I’ll cook it like Bulalo style next time.”

In a subsequent snapshot with screen shots of the various stories written regarding the rumor, Thalia wrote: “And the #myth will continue.”

She continued: “Myths are a special kind of literature not written or created by a single individual, but produced by the imagination and experience of an entire age and culture and can be seen as the distillation of the dreams and experiences of a whole generation.’ I love you guys And I loved every single story! Super fun and creative.”

The entire sage began when a host of “Aquino and Abunda Tonight,” an entertainment show in the Philippines, mentioned the rumor.

Thalia, who said she watched that particular episode, tweeted on Aug. 9 that she would like to set the record straight about the issue.

She followed that up with a picture on Instagram of her with a pair of ribs in a glass bottle.

“To all my loving Filipino fans, here is the proof. My Famous Ribs, I kept them with me all these years,” she captioned it.

Though she was apparently joking, the photo gained traction on the web, with even USA Today writing about it.

Rib removal surgery is actual thing – and according to the Plastic Surgery Portal, it involves removing the 11th and 12th ribs to make the waist seem slimmer.
