Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at the London Film Festival this weekend, where he made quite the splash with his new blond hair.

The 50-year-old actor was on hand to present the British Film Institute Fellowship Award to frequent co-star Christopher Lee, whom he worked with in "Dark Shadows," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Sleepy Hollow," among others. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Depp called Lee "a wonderful inspiration" as well as "a true gentleman," and Lee, 91, returned the favor by describing Depp as a "true star" and a dream to work with.

But back to the hair. Depp has sported a number of different hairstyles through the years, ranging from braids and dreadlocks to long Scissorhandian frizz. So what do you think of his lighter look?
