Eva Longoria is not mixing business and pleasure.

Despite rumors that the “Desperate Housewives” has been secretly seeing L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Longoria told her best friend Mario Lopez on his “Extra” TV show that the rumors are simply not true.

The reason for the romance speculation, said Longoria, probably stems from her recent involvement in politics and working closely with Villaraigosa, who served with her as co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign.

According to Star magazine, the two were seen getting cozy in California.

“[They were] holding hands and sneaking into a late-night showing of Lincoln in L.A.,” a source supposedly told the magazine.

“They were trying to go unnoticed, but it seemed pretty clear they were on a date.”

Another insider allegedly told Star that Longoria and Villaraigosa have been “flirting for a while.”

"Everything heated up when they worked to help get President Obama reelected,” the insider said.  “He started to insist that they go to events around the country together.”

The report, however, had been widely debunked by Longoria's camp from the beginning.

Recently the “Desperate Housewives” actress split from NY Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez. Villaraigosa also split recently from his longtime girlfriend, Lu Parker.
