For those who are fans of the original “Guns n’ Roses,” hold your memorabilia close – it seems Axl Rose is staying true to his refusal to be inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year – and a reunion between him and the other band members is never ever going to happen. Ever.

“I don’t know why everyone is so obsessed – it is not going to happen,” Slash told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column after receiving a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week. And call the famed guitarist (often deemed one of the all-time best) what you like – but just don’t call him a music icon.

“When people call me that it makes me a little uncomfortable,” Slash said. “You appreciate the fact that you have arrived at a place where people recognize you and in a positive way, and put you on a pedestal. But at the same time, I’m really about trying to be a better songwriter and trying to get better as a guitar player. So to think of yourself as an icon is pretty much next to impossible at this point.”

On that note, and in spite of several decades of huge success, this rock n’ roll leader recently released a solo album “Apocalyptic Love” – and has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

“(Retiring) is not something I think about, I couldn’t imagine retiring,” he explained. “The longer I do this the more into it I become and the more I love it, so as long as I am going down that path I can’t see retirement. I’m still someone who is struggling with trying to get better, achieve my goals musically…”

Slash has, however, learned a lesson or two about show business along the way.

“The one main thing is that the show must go on, which has always been a huge thing for me. Another big one is don’t believe your own hype,” he continued. “And then there is intonation which is all about bending the strings or doing whatever it is you do to bend the strings so they are actually in tune. But don’t bend too far.”

And while he was “honored and humbled” earning a spot on the coveted Walk of Fame, don’t expect to see this legend hanging around that little square of Hollywood Boulevard real estate ever again.

“As a kid growing up, I was totally sucked into the whole fantasy of Hollywood and I still am,” Slash added. “But I will probably never come up here and see it again. I’m the kind of person that doesn’t like to read or watch anything that I do after the fact, so I will probably keep a reasonable safe distance from it. My kids can come and check it out.”
