Jenny McCarthy developing talk show for VH1, report says

Jenny McCarthy is developing a talk show for VH1, spurning reported attempts from Bravo, NBC and OWN to court the former Playboy Playmate.

"The Jenny McCarthy Show" is still in the early development stages but will feature McCarthy covering pop culture news and interviewing celebrities, according to a VH1 statement Wednesday.

The show will premiere on the Viacom-owned cable channel in the summer or fall of this year.

"Jenny is a great comedic talent with a sharp wit and magnetic personality, and we couldn't be happier to welcome her to the VH1 family," Jeff Olde, EVP of Original Programming and Production, said in the statement.

The 39-year-old tweeted she was "so excited" about the project, originally created for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network where she signed a development deal in 2009.

But sources claim McCarthy grew frustrated with OWN producers and walked away from the network last summer -- reportedly shopping the project to NBC and later to Bravo.

In addition to her acting and modeling career, McCarthy hosted a dating game show, "Singled Out," on MTV from 1995 to 1997.
