Did Katy Perry and Russell Brand Split Over Diego Luna?

Was sexy Mexican actor Diego Luna the cause of Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s divorce?

This is the latest rumors swirling in the world of cyber space, as first reported by gossip site TV Notas.com

Luna, 32, stars as Perry’s love interest in her latest music video “The One That Got Away.”

Nonetheless, the “Y tu mamá también” star says his relationship with the newly single Perry is strictly business.

“It was only work,” Luna emphasized to the website, adding that he doesn’t even have a friendship with Perry.

After clarifying his status with Perry he said that the news of her divorce made him “very sad.”

“Those are always bad news,” said Luna. “But, what else can I say.”

Luna’s clarification comes just as Perry took to Twitter to speak about her short lived marriage.

“I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world,” Perry posted on her Twitter account on Sunday.

“You guys have made my heart happy again.”

The “I kissed a Girl” singer then spoke about the rumors about what went wrong in her marriage.”

“Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me,” Perry added.  “Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family.”

Reports surfaced that Perry and Brand’s marriage fell apart because he wanted children and she did not, because of her partying ways and because Brand allegedly strongly disapproved of Perry’s close bond with “Good Guirl Gne Bad” Rihanna.

As for Luna, his new film “Contraband” starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale hits theaters this Friday Jan. 13.
