Two men have been detained in the murder of Argentine singer Facundo Cabral, a source says.

A Guatemalan investigator says the suspects were seen in hotel surveillance videos following Nicaraguan businessmen Henry Fariñas, who was driving Cabral to the airport when they were ambushed Saturday.

The investigator is not authorized to be quoted by name. He says Fariñas was the apparent target of the attack. Fariñas was wounded and Cabral died.

Cabral's body was brought home to his native Argentina from Guatemala Tuesday on a Mexican Air Force jet.

Cabral rose to fame in the early 1970s as part of a generation of singers who mixed political protest with literary lyrics.
