A security guard working on the show “NCIS” reportedly died Wednesday when he was struck by a passenger van that smashed into the set.
The 60-year-old driver had a medical emergency that caused him to drive onto the set and hit the 52-year-old male guard, TMZ reports.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but died shortly thereafter from his injuries, according to TMZ.
NCIS cast, crew and producers released a joint statement, saying, "NCIS is a family. And, as with any family, we are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.”
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
