Ukrainian government reportedly expecting Russia to limit gas supply

Published December 08, 2015

The Ukrainian government reportedly is expecting Russia to limit gas supplies to the country as it increases pressure on Kiev over energy sales.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk spoke to Reuters after Russian natural gas producer Gazprom announced that it would increase gas prices for Ukraine.

“We expect Russia to go further in terms of pressure on the gas front, including gas supplies to Ukraine,” Yatseniuk told Reuters. He called the price hike “absolutely unacceptable,” and reportedly said it was politically motivated.

Reuters contributed to this report.
