'Macho man' Vladimir Putin is at it again.

State television showed a video of the Russian president Friday throwing members of the national judo team to the ground.

After Putin and coach Ezio Gamba took each other to the mat in a practice in Sochi, Putin followed up with a smooth move — granting the Italian a Russian passport.

He praised Gamba for leading Russia's judo team to "surprising results and remarkable success" in the Olympics.

Under Gamba, Russia led the judo medal count in the 2012 Olympics with three golds, one silver and one bronze.

The tussle with Gamba took place days after Putin laced up his skates to play with members of the Russian Amateur Ice Hockey League in a training session on the eve of Russian Orthodox Christmas Day.

Putin, wearing his usual #11 jersey, skated out onto the rink of the Ice Palace in Sochi on Wednesday and scored a goal before heading over to pose in front of a throng of photographers at rinkside, the BBC reported.

But Putin’s performance wasn’t as good as one in October when he scored a whopping seven goals on his 63rd birthday alongside a team of NHL legends, including “The Russian Rocket” Pavel Bure and Vyacheslav Fetisov.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
