Police Solve Boy's Murder After 24 Years

Published January 07, 2015

SkyNews

Police have solved the murder of a nine-year-old boy following advances in DNA screening that led to the killer being identified after 24 years.

Imraan Ismail Vohra failed to return home from school in Preston, Great Britain in July of 1985.

Vohra's body was found two days later in a city park - he had been raped and strangled.

British Police and the Forensic Science Service have matched DNA from the scene to a London man, Robert David Morley.

Morley, who lived in the same city as the boy at the time of Vohra's murder, died in Essex in 1997.

Scientists say that, according to the DNA evidence, the chances of Morley not being responsible for Vohra's murder are a billion to one.
