German Police Find 1,000 Pairs of Underwear in Thief's Apartment

After German police caught a man stealing three pairs of underwear from a sports hall in Gelnhausen, they discovered more than 1,000 pairs of underpants and over 100 pairs of swim trunks in the suspect's apartment, Reuters reported.

Police searched the 46-year-old's home after he was caught nabbing the underwear Sunday.

"They were all evidently in use, but had been washed and neatly stacked away," a police spokesman told Reuters.

Police are investigating where all the items came from, but the suspect claims he acquired them through street sales and over the Internet.
