Bill Huizenga, R-Mich., chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, opens a hearing on covert foreign malign influence operations by warning that China, Cuba, Iran, Russia and other U.S. adversaries are seeking to shape American thought and society. Huizenga says the countries share a goal of weakening the United States and calls for greater transparency around foreign funding, propaganda and amplification of domestic voices.
