DOJ charges 11 in multimillion-dollar marriage fraud scheme
Eleven individuals face charges in the Southern District of New York for a massive marriage fraud scheme, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.
Federal authorities unsealed an indictment charging 11 people in one of the largest marriage fraud schemes in U.S. history. Operating as a multi-million dollar industry, the network facilitated more than 1,000 sham marriages between Chinese nationals and American citizens to illegally secure green cards, the Justice Department alleged.
