House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has issued a criminal referral to the Justice Department seeking the prosecution of former Special Counsel Jack Smith for alleged false statements to Congress last December about the collection of toll records and text message content from more than 40 members of Congress.
