The Department of Homeland Security arrested Giovanna Mercedes Moreno Occhipinti, an illegal immigrant ex-teacher, in connection with a deadly 2024 Chicago house party shooting involving the Tren de Aragua gang. She allegedly drove gunmen to the scene where three were killed. Chicago authorities initially released her on weapons charges due to sanctuary city policies, without notifying ICE.
