Woman Cites Pregnancy in Alleged Attempt to Smuggle 34,000 Ecstasy Pills Into U.S.

A Georgia woman was arrested after she told agents at the U.S.-Canadian border that she was pregnant -- but was actually trying to smuggle 34,000 ecstasy pills in a body suit, police said.
Leeann Corley, 25, was travelling on a Greyhound bus over a bridge that connects Canada and Buffalo, N.Y., when agents questioned her travel motives, the Daily Mail reports.
She told authorities that she was returning to the U.S. after visiting a sick aunt. But after failing to answer basic questions about her travel route, a pat down was conducted.
Inside her body suit with its modified stomach area, investigators allegedly found 33 zip-lock bags of colored pills – ecstasy – which in total weighed over 21 pounds. The value of the drugs was estimated at $3 million.
Corley faces charges of importation and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.
