Wife of Accused Email Hacker Refutes Claims She Allowed Husband Access to Account

The estranged wife of a Michigan man facing felony charges for hacking into her email account is refuting claims that she allowed her husband access to the messages.

Leon Walker, of Rochester Hills, Mich., 33, claims he used his wife Clara's password to get into her Gmail account, where he learned details of an affair. He faces a maximum of five years in prison.

"We've never shared passwords," Clara Walker told MyFoxDetroit.com. "He's a very intelligent man and he knew what he was doing."

Clara Walker, who claims the marriage was rocky from the outset, has filed for divorce, which was granted in December.

Michael McCulloch, Clara Walker's attorney, said the couple led distinct lives, including separate bank accounts, credit cards and bedrooms.

"Clare had already filed for divorce and he was digging for dirt that he could use in court," McCulloch told MyFoxDetroit.com.
