Teenage girl nabbed after video of her beating disabled man goes viral

Police in Missouri are probing a vicious, videotaped beating of a mentally disabled man by a teenage girl that surfaced on the Internet.

In the nearly eight-minute video, a man known to residents of Caruthersville as "Cool Breeze" is pummeled by the girl, who then kicks him and pulls his hair as he lies helpless on the ground and a group of teens and adults watch. Police believe the sick tape was shot several weeks ago, but they began investigating after the video was posted on Facebook and then YouTube.

After showing her swollen hands to the camera, the teenage girl rushes Crocker again, punching him in the face until he falls to the ground again, and then repeatedly hitting him in the back of the head as he tries to get up.

The unidentified girl, who is believed to be 13 or 14 years old, appeared before a judge yesterday and was committed to the Missouri Division of Youth Services for rehabilitation. Assistant Police Chief Jerry Hudgens told FoxNews.com others shown in the video could face charges as well.

“There’s still an investigation ongoing into the adults that were there, reviewing to see if there are any charges there for not stopping the assault,” Hudgens said.

The victim, whose name is Larry Crocker, is known to residents of the town of 6,000 for his impersonations of Michael Jackson, singing and dancing down the sidewalk as motorists pass.

Hudgens says Crocker isn’t a troublemaker and has never been a danger to anyone.

“The only thing I would ever know of him to be causing an issue would be impeding the flow of traffic, just because people are stopping to watch him,” Hudgens said.
