Suspicious Object Found on Walt Disney World Bus

Published January 07, 2015

Fox News

Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Unit removed a suspicious object that had been attached to a Walt Disney World bus after employees found the object during a maintenance procedure.

Investigators determined that the object was not explosive or hazardous, but did not disclose what the object is or why it was attached to the bus.

The bus was undergoing routine maintenance at a back stage maintenance facility in Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Members of the Orange County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Team responded to the maintenance facility just after 3 p.m. on Thursday to evaluate the device and determine how to proceed.

Disney employees in close proximity were briefly evacuated from the scene and all bus service at the Walt Disney World was suspended.

As a result of the suspended bus service, Walt Disney World extended hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom all water parks. Taxi services were also been expanded to accommodate park guests.
