A manhunt was under way and six schools were locked down Wednesday after a shot was fired during a routine traffic stop, local media reported.

The gunman reportedly fled the scene after Metro Police pulled a motorist over about 10:10 a.m. Wednesday in the western Las Vegas Valley and a shot was fired, according to Officer Bill Cassell.

No one was injured, KTNV said.

Six schools were on lockdown and four intersections and several streets were closed during the search for the suspect, according to local reports.
