A standoff with a gunman who barricaded himself in a room at a Detroit airport hotel ended peacefully after he turned himself in to police Friday morning, FOX's WJBK-TV reported.

The gunman ran into the Best Western hotel near Detroit Metropolitan Airport after a car chase just before 2 a.m. Friday, Romulus, Mich., police Lt. Terry Cox told the Detroit Free Press.

During the police chase on Interstate 94, he pulled off the highway and fled on foot into the Best Western, where he holed himself up in a second-floor room.
