Spokane International Airport in Washington announced it had "temporarily closed" for about 2 hours after a United Airlines jet skidded off a taxiway and into a snowbank before takeoff.

Nobody was reported hurt. The airport reopened for flight operations around 8:45 a.m.

Passenger Mike Kennaugh told Fox News United flight 812 "took a weird turn, then was bumpy" before it could take off for Denver. "Most people probably didn't know what was happening," he added.

Kennaugh said emergency workers had trouble bringing a ladder truck to get passengers out of the 737, because the ground was too icy. They eventually shuttled everyone back to the terminal, airport officials said.

The incident happened around 6:00 a.m.
