Powerball jackpot surges to an estimated $348 million

The Powerball jackpot has surged to $348 million before Wednesday night’s drawing, which is the second highest prize since the January record-setting $1.5 billion jackpot.

The lump sum cash prize for the $348 million would be $226.1 million, according to The Chicago Tribune. Each ticket costs $2 and the odds of winning are about 1 in 292 million.
