New Jersey State Police are investigating a report of a needle found in a young child's Halloween candy.

Troopers received a report of a sewing needle found in a Tootsie Roll candy that a child collected in Commercial Township, Cumberland County, state police said Tuesday in a Facebook post.

The child's mother told police she discovered the needle in the candy Monday night after her child went trick-or-treating earlier in the evening.

Authorities said there are no suspects at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
