A man stole a New York City police vehicle left idling in the Bronx, N.Y., Saturday morning and drove it to LaGuardia Airport, MyFoxNY.com reported.

The police officer allegedly left his vehicle unattended and idling while he grabbed a bite to eat inside a local diner, the New York Post reported.

"All of a sudden I see a cop come out of the restaurant running," Sammy Obaid, who works by the diner, told the New York Post. "He was going crazy. He was on the phone, making calls. He was freaked out."

There was a loaded shotgun inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

The suspect was arrested inside an airport terminal.
