A Philadelphia man was stabbed six times Saturday for apparently not being a barber, police say.

Philly.com reports the 29-year-old victim was inside his home giving his 6-year-old son a haircut when a stranger entered his home through the front door.

Police say the stranger asked the victim if he was a barber, and the victim replied that he was not. They say the stranger then left, only return about five minutes later and ask for a haircut.

When the victim refused to give him a haircut and asked him to leave, police say the assailant pulled out a gun. The victim struggled with his attacker, who then pulled out a small knife and stabbed the victim six times.

The suspect then fled the scene. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
