Concourse at Miami International closed after fake bomb threat

Authorities shut down Concourse J at Miami International Airport shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday after a passenger made a false bomb threat, WSVN.com reported.

Police told the station that a passenger, Manuel Alberto Alvarado, was checking in before boarding an international flight and said he had a bomb in his bag.

"When anyone makes a joke about any kind of explosive, they say the word bomb, they say they have the word explosives, they say anything that can create a threat to our terminal, our public, our passengers and our aircraft, you can bet your bottom dollar that we're gonna take that serious," Lauren Stover, an assistant aviation director, told the station.

A bomb squad was at the scene for precaution, NBC Miami reported.

There were no explosives found, but Alvarado was arrested and charged with making a hoax bomb threat.
