Michigan police have arrested two brothers in the 1989 murder of Shannon Siders, a teenager whose body was found in the Manistee National Forest three months after she disappeared.

Siders, of Newaygo, vanished in July 1989, and her murder remained unsolved. In 2011, a cold case team was assembled an investigators exhumed the teen’s body in 2012 in the search for more clues, Fox 17 reported.

Suspects Paul and Matthew Jones, who were 17 and 19 at the time of Siders’ murder, were seen riding in a car with Siders the day she disappeared.

Both Jones brothers are facing first-degree murder charges.

“It’s the beginning of the end. For true justice to be served, I believe in capital punishment,” said Bob Siders, Shannon’s dad.
