GREG GUTFELD, CO-HOST: So, Roosevelt University in Chicago is offering a course on the Occupy movement, the protest that galvanized the un-sanitized.
Professor Jeff Edwards and a student visited pliable CNN to air brush the movement. So, I wonder if he thinks all analysts agree that this has changed the discourse of American politics already and it seems to be a movement that's going to have staying power, that's going to be around for a long time and have impact.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JEFF EDWARDS, PROFESSOR: All analysts agree that this has really changed the discourse of American politics already and it seems to me it's a movement that's going to have staying power, that's going to be around for a long time. It has some impact. It was playing out right across the street from our campus. And, it's like youth-led movement, so you I thought it would be perfect for our students.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUTFELD: Shocker.
Now, I could make jokes about the lessons he could teach from the movement, like how to turn a Burger King bag into a toilet or how to convince a young protester to excuse a sexual assault just for the cause. But it's not that funny.
Far better to focus on the real joke and that's the one about to be played on America. See, people who teach their history, they win. And right now, there's an ego-driven race to profit from the media lie that is Occupy Wall Street.
Professors angle for books and bedmates. Students will do anything for an A. But you need an accomplice and CNN was there. During that interview, there were no mention of the 400-plus crimes committed at Occupy Wall Street, which did include rape. But at least CNN asked one tough question.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CNN ANCHOR: Thank you both for joining me. And on the record, Jeff, is Anisha going to get an A? I'm putting you on the spot.
EDWARDS: It's looking that way.
(LAUGHTER)
CNN ANCHOR: OK, that's really good, Anisha. You keep me posted. You let me know what happens.
(LAUGHTER)
Thanks, guys, so much. Appreciate it.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUTFELD: I bet you do appreciate it. After all, the media shares the occupiers' beliefs that America is bad and the world owes you everything.
Prediction, in a year, you'll see the Occupy movement minus the rape and the feces. And every actor, whether it'd be Michael Cera or Anne Hathaway will die to star in it, because after all, the movement ignites the never ending narcissism of the left. If that doesn't make you want to throw up, you are probably one of them.
ERIC BOLLING, CO-HOST: Well done.
GUTFELD: Thank you.
DANA PERINO, CO-HOST: I first saw that on Sunday, Tom Bevan of Real Clear Politics tweeted, said this would be funny if it weren't true. It's like a self-directed study.
GUTFELD: But I mean, can you expect an objective look at this from a professor that is basically in love with the movement? I mean, he is.
Bob?
BOB BECKEL, CO-HOST: What --
(LAUGHTER)
GUTFELD: You are staring at me.
BECKEL: No, no, I'm still absorbing everything you said. I mean, I don't understand what the problem is. I mean, if they want to -- they teach weirdest courses on weirdest thing, right? I mean, isn't there one more of this, too, in New York?
GUTFELD: There is. It's happening. No, there -- it's actually not surprising that they are teaching this because they share the same assumptions.
ANDREA TANTAROS, CO-HOST: We wonder why China is out-pacing us. They sit around wondering, do we have enough engineers? Are they learning their studies? And we're like, oh, do people know how poop in a Burger King bag?
(LAUGHTER)
BOLLING: The dangerous part is right now they're doing all the dumb things, pooping on cop cars and raping each other --
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: No, no, because it happened. As Greg point out, there were 400 different violations of the law, including rape.
GUTFELD: And it's been that since, that was at December.
BOLLING: Scary part, though. But what if they were to really to coalesce and get their movement together and get some sort of voice, they are a force to be reckoned with. You've got to be honest, they'll have a lobbying group and --
PERINO: I think they have one. I think that the mainstream media for a long time ignored it. The other thing about this if you look at the similar coverage of the Tea Party movement --
GUTFELD: Yes.
PERINO: -- which was the downfall of America, the racists, the ones who are going to turn this country upside down and tear it apart, and none of that has come true. The Occupy movement, it's so different.
GUTFELD: Yes, I want to actually -- since we showed CNN covering Occupy, let's show maybe an old clip, a classic of them covering the Tea Party.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
REPORTER: OK. You are here with your 2-year-old and you are already in debt. Why are you here today?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Because I hear a president say that he believes in what Lincoln stood for. Lincoln's primary thing was people had the right to liberty and had the right --
CNN REPORTER: What does this have to do with taxes? What does have to do with your taxes?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Let me finish speaking --
CNN REPORTER: Do you realize that you're eligible for $400 --
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Let me finish my point.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUTFELD: Isn't that lovely?
Andrea, you notice any kind of difference in the way they treat one movement versus another?
TANTAROS: It's pretty obvious. They should offer the contrast which is the Tea Party in this course. But, look, if you want to spend $200,000 and go into debt to go to a university and learn that things that they are teaching in this class, well, do it. But what I'm wondering is, if I took the class, let's say and I decided to occupy the class and I sat outside the class and I didn't shower for a week and I never went to the class, would I get an A?
GUTFELD: Yes. And also, you could occupy it without paying it. That's auditing.
TANTAROS: Right. It would be free.
BECKEL: If I'm not mistaken, they've been teaching on the Tea Party movement for some time now, right? I mean, most --
GUTFELD: I bet it's been real politics.
PERINO: You mean, the Constitution? That class?
BECKEL: No, no. I mean, they are discussing the Tea Party in schools. But when you say it's an impact and you sort of made fun of that. But the fact is, I don't want to surprise anybody with any polls in this. But I think it is fair to say that since they started, there has been a bigger number, a larger number of people who believe that there's income inequality in this country.
BOLLING: Whatever, there is. Not in this country, Bob, there's income inequality all over the place.
TANTAROS: The world.
BOLLING: At the highest level in socialist countries, by way.
But, nonetheless, you know you have to worry when groups, when lobbying groups in K. Street and D.C. start to get their doors knocked on by the lobbyist groups and then they start to talk to politicians. Right now, the Democrats are staying away and saying, we're not there because of there was so much funny business going on in what they are doing, all the bad stuff. If they clean up their act --
PERINO: Well, the best thing that's happened to the movement is that they were kicked out of the parks.
GUTFELD: Yes.
PERINO: Because then the daily violence or the -- it was daily violence, when they were occupying in the 100 cities. That's been the best thing, that their actual point of the income inequality has been strengthened because they're not driving a crazy --
TANTAROS: Their war on women.
PERINO: Absolutely.
(CROSSTALK)
GUTFELD: Can I make a point? They aren't -- they are getting help getting the act cleaned up. The media is doing it for them. They're whitewashing this. There are so many crimes, Bob.
And the fact is you can't question her on this, because you don't read statistics. I do.
BECKEL: No, no, you said 400. I accept that.
GUTFELD: Now, there's now probably about 600 because that was in December.
PERINO: That doesn't include Oakland.
I just to make point a point, we've got to move on. The Occupy protesters are going to be at CPAC, Andrea. And they vow, according to some sources, that they're going to make a mess and they're going to attack the speakers and stuff like that. So I got you a gift because you're going to be there.
TANTAROS: That's right.
GUTFELD: I got you some incense.
TANTAROS: Thank you.
PERINO: So nice.
GUTFELD: If they come after you --
TANTAROS: Thank you.
PERINO: Peace offering.
TANTAROS: I'll turn in my shower gel at the end of the show. And, Bob, do you have some Birkenstocks I could borrow?
BECKEL: I'll be back home on this weekend and I'll be down there with them.
TANTAROS: Well, they're going to be there Friday. Susan, our producer is coming with me. We've got -- bring it on Occupy.
