Meerkat app poised to make splash in 2016 election Video

Meerkat, the live video streaming app that has quickly been gaining steam after debuting earlier in March, is now finding popularity with potential candidates gearing up for the 2016 presidential election. The app, which links up with a user’s Twitter account, gives near-immediate (with about a 30-second delay) streaming access to video content. It makes it a natural fit for a politician looking to disseminate his or her message to a wide range of potential voters.

The app gives an “unfiltered access to the electorate,” Mashable Editor at Large Lance Ulanoff told Fox News.

Ulanoff suggested that in a digital age that is all about immediate access to information, Meerkat is more than just a passing fad.

“This is here to stay,” he said.
