Arno Lustiger, a Jewish historian and Holocaust survivor, has filed suit in Germany against the magazine’s German edition for publishing an interview with Horst Mahler, a former left-wing extremist turned neo-Nazi, the Post reports.

In the interview, Mahler said that “Hitler was the liberator of the German people. He is demonized as the liberator of Satan,” the Post reports.

Denying or belittling the Holocaust is illegal in German. Vanity Fair has not responded to the suit, according to the Post.
