Latest in Aerospace Hits the Skies at Paris Air Show

Published January 14, 2015

The newest aerospace trends are on display at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France this week.

The commercial air show, organized by an arm of the French aerospace industry, shows off civilian and military aircraft to potential customers.

Among the top draws this year is Russia's Sukhoi aircraft giant, which is seeking to make a splash at the Paris Air Show with its SuperJet, key to Russia's effort to revive its civilian aviation industry.

The Eurofighter Typhoon jet fighter has also been getting a lot of attention.

The slow economy is putting a slight damper on the festivities, as orders haven't been as robust as normal.

Airbus announced just one Monday from Qatar Airways, for 24 jets from the A320 family, worth $1.9 billion.

That was well below the $25 billion raked in the first day of the last big show, at Farnborough, England last year.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
