Published January 13, 2015

Fox News

A Japanese company has manufactured an airbag senior citizens can wear, which will pop out if they fall, Agence France-Presse reported Tuesday.

The airbag, which weighs a little more than 2 pounds, looks like a fanny pack, however, it will inflate in one-tenth of a second. Sensors detect if the person has fallen.

Once inflated, the bag contains a total of 8 gallons of gas.

The airbag will protect the back of the head and the buttocks.

The company, Prop, is based in Tokyo. Prop will sell the product for $1,685.
