New guidelines aimed at curtailing the behavior or transgender and gay monks will introduced in Thailand, the BBC reported.

A senior monk told the BBC there is a concern over such activities as wearing tight, revealing robes, having effeminately-shaped eyebrows and, wearing make-up and carrying pink purses.

The new guidelines, which have been explained in detail yet, will be part of a new "good manners" course at the Novice Demonstration School and would be taught at other schools.

The course will address issues such as drinking alcohol, walking, properly using the bathroom and smoking, senior monk Phra Maha Wuhijaya Vajiramedhi told the BBC.
