Ex-Cop Drew Peterson's Mother, Stepfather Testify Before Grand Jury

Former Illinois police officer Drew Peterson's mother and stepfather went before a grand jury Thursday investigating the disappearance of his fourth wife and the death of his third ex-wife.

Albert and Betty Morphey declined to answer questions from reporters after the grand jury meeting, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"You guys are vultures," Al Morphey said.

Peterson, who is a person of interest in the investigation into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, 23, denies any wrongdoing and has not been charged. Peterson maintains that Stacy ran off with another man.

Peterson's mother told a photographer: "We want 10 copies of each (picture). We didn't do nothing wrong," according to the Tribune.

Stacy Peterson was reported missing on Oct. 29 when she failed to show up at a friend's home.

A judge recently allowed Peterson to get his seized cars and computers back from police. A March 25 hearing will determine if investigators will be forced to return Peterson's guns.

Authorities are reviewing the investigation into the 2004 death of Kathleen Savio, Peterson's third ex-wife. Savio's death initially was ruled accidental after she drowned in a bathtub. Investigators reopened the investigation last fall and another autopsy of her exhumed body found her death to be a homicide.
