Texas Tech, Kansas seek 1st conference win; teams' Big 12 loss streaks date to last season

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Texas Tech and Kansas are coming off close losses and will try again for their first Big 12 win when they play Saturday.

The Jayhawks lost 27-20 to then-No. 16 Oklahoma State last week after a 99-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders lost 37-34 to West Virginia on a 55-yard field goal as time expired.

Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn't think his team will have a difficult time rebounding from its loss.

Kansas interim coach Clint Bowen is looking for his first win since taking over late last month.

The Red Raiders (2-4, 0-3) face losing a ninth straight conference game going back to last season.

The Jayhawks (2-4, 0-3) have won just one of its last 33 league games.
