Houston, 28, started all 14 games in which he played last season, his third with the Lions, and finished with 56 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
Acquired in a trade with Atlanta three years ago, the Arkansas product has registered 332 tackles and 11 interceptions in 87 career games.
