Parker to play in France during lockout

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker has decided to play in his native France during the NBA lockout.

Parker has signed a contract to play for ASVEL, reportedly for less than $2,000 per month. The team is based in Villeurbanne, near Lyon, in the southeast of France.

The 29-year-old Parker, who has won three NBA titles with the Spurs, was born in Belgium, but was raised in France. He helped France reached the finals of the 2011 FIBA European Championship before his team lost to Spain.
