Ohio State announces punishment for lineman who ran afoul of the law

Ohio State announced Friday morning defensive lineman Adolphus Washington will not play in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame after he was cited for solicitation earlier this week.

Washington, a senior from Cincinnati, has been a contributor in each of his four seasons in Columbus, including a full-year starter this season and last year when the Buckeyes won the national title.

He issued an apology Thursday after news of the alleged incident broke.
