Doug McGuigan defeated Jean Hugo on the fifth playoff hole Sunday to win the Zambia Open, his fourth victory on the South African Tour.
McGuigan, the third-round leader, carded a three-under 69 and was the only player in the field to post four rounds in the 60s at Nchanga Golf Club. Hugo had a five-under 67 and the pair finished regulation tied at 16-under 272.
McGuigan, whose last victory on the circuit came in 2009, finished first in the first stage of European Tour Qualifying School in Portugal recently and carried the form into this week.
Robert Wiederkehr shot a one-under 71 and came in third at minus-13.
Bradford Vaughan struggled to a two-over 73 and took fourth at 11-under 277.
