The New York Jets have released safety DaJuan Morgan, linebacker Stafford Gatling and defensive tackle Carlton Powell.

Morgan, who signed with the Jets on August 2, has played in 30 NFL games since Kansas City selected him in the third round of the 2008 draft. He saw his most action during his first two seasons in the league, totaling 41 tackles in 28 games. Morgan, 25, appeared in two games for the Colts last season.

Gatling signed as an undrafted free agent July 27, while Powell signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets on January 5.
