The Philadelphia Eagles have followed through with their search for another defensive end to pair with Pro Bowler Trent Cole.

The Eagles Tuesday traded pass-rushing LB/DE hybrid Chris Clemons and an undisclosed draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks for DE Darryl Tapp, FOXSports.com has learned.

Tapp, a four-year veteran wth Seattle, had signed his restricted free-agent tender with the Seahawks a day earlier. After Monday's re-signing, Tapp said on his Twitter account "it is truly a blessing to have a job doing what I love to do. Always appreciating my opportunities."

A second-round pick of the Seahawks in 2006, Tapp played in 16 games last year with 49 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and a forced fumble. He has 18 sacks in his four seasons with Seattle, including a career-high seven in 2007.

Clemons is a five-year veteran with 20 career sacks, including a career-best of eight in 2007 with Oakland.
